Many have witnessed the integration of AI functionality into various systems and the increasing intelligence of tools like Chat GPT for resume writing. The rapid evolution of AI raises questions about its ethics and the extent to which it should replace human effort. This week, we will discuss the appropriate and inappropriate uses of AI.
Using AI can be appropriately used for items like the following:
- Basic automation
- Finding out facts or information
- Grammar assistance
When working on creative projects, dealing with human emotions, or requiring human connection, it may be best to leave AI aside, as it lacks values, creativity, feelings, or emotion. A problem seen in the current workforce is using AI to generate ideas, resumes, and cover letters. Although this makes the process easier and smoother for job seekers, problems arise when the worker doesn’t know as much about what they conveyed once working or having to remember information they didn’t write themselves starts becoming an ethical problem. This is the same case with replacing humans with artificial intelligence in many work settings.
AI has also become a concern for large companies because of proprietary data being leaked. It is hard to monitor the sites that offer AI and the users using said programs. AI could also be a concern and threat to the workforce because of its ability to replace many jobs and job functions. However, AI is expensive to integrate overall into all functions and may not receive the ROI to have from a business perspective.
Artificial intelligence isn’t going anywhere…it will only increase in intelligence and integration as time goes on.
